I was just 18 when one of my good friends introduced me to this amazing lady. This woman not only looks like royalty on the outside, but she also has a kind heart. Her husband and children respect and praise her hard work. By now, you’re probably wondering who she is. Well, she is the Proverbs Woman.
Today, there aren’t many women for us to look up to. Just take a look at what’s going on in the media. Sure there are many women out there who can be a great example to follow, but those women are rarely shared with the public.
I have realized that it is necessary for us to start finding our own role models in this time. I decided to revisit the Proverbs Woman this week and made myself aware of her desirable qualities. I am choosing to model myself after her, and any other woman would be smart to do the same. Here are just a few of the things you can do to follow in her footsteps.
Clothe yourself with strength and dignity
The word clothe adds so much meaning to this. Usually our fashion is something we put a lot of time and thought into, since clothes are seen by everyone. Remember to put this much effort into everyday life. Make sure you are pushing yourself; giving up is the easy way out. Also, use the strength you have gained through overcoming obstacles to help others.
Laugh without fear of the future
Fear is just a lack of knowledge. Don’t become overwhelmed with anxiety because you don’t know what your future holds. It will only cause you to have frequent panic attacks. Life is going to happen, whether you like it or not. Just take your time and laugh as much as you possibly can. That’s what I do.
Speak wise words
This may seem a little kindergarten, but you should always think before you speak. And if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Ladies, this means that we must end gossip. What kind of example are we setting by putting down other women? We’re in this together. We’re on the same team!
Give instructions with kindness
Don’t be afraid to voice your opinions, but at the same time remember to respect others’ opinions. Live your life in a way that is pleasing for you. It is okay to give constructive criticism. That’s what helps us grow. Just don’t be a dictator. And don’t take it personally when you receive some words about yourself.
Carefully watch over everything in your household
Be generous. Lend your time, skills, and even a shoulder (to cry on) to your family or anyone else you care about. Pay attention to what is going on in their lives. Don’t wait until a tragedy to make sure someone is okay. Be a friend through the good, the bad, and the ugly. Your family needs you! And there will definitely be times when you need them as well.
Suffer nothing from laziness
Be productive! There shouldn’t be a point in your day when you’re doing absolutely nothing. There are 24 hours in a day. You should have no excuse as to why something did not get done. Any of your personal role models who are successful have the same 24 hours in their day as you do. Manage your time wisely to conquer your goals.
